Xiaobo Luo

University of Sheffield

Dr Xiaobo Luo is a researcher from Process Systems Engineering (PSE) Group led by Professor Meihong Wang, at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. His research interests include: (1) sustainable energy supply and use, such as carbon capture and transport, novel hydration process for gas treatment; (2) process system engineering techniques, such as advanced modeling of complex systems, process intensification; (3) machine learning and big data for PSE.
From January 2013 to October 2016, he worked as a research associate on carbon capture and transport at University of Hull (UK). In that period, he obtained his PhD degree on carbon capture for gas-fired power plants in July 2016. Before pursued his academic career, Dr Xiaobo Luo had worked in the industry for 11 years. He was a lead process optimisation engineer in BP China from March 2009 to January 2013 after he obtained MSc degree from Cranfield University (UK) in 2008. Before that, he had worked as a process engineer and then a project manager in National Engineering Research Center of Distillation Technology of China in Tianjin University (China) for 6 years.
