Meihong Wang

Meihong was trained as Process Engineer in China since 1985. In 1988, he joined Jiangsu Province Chemical Fertiliser Plant as Assistant Process Engineer. In 1992, he started MSc study at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) in Shanghai, China. In 1995, he became Lecturer in Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), China.
Meihong moved to the UK in Jan. 1999 to join the Centre for Process Systems Engineering at Imperial College London as Research Assistant (also part-time PhD at UCL), then Postdoctoral Research Fellow from Jan. 2002. From Jun. 2004 to Oct. 2006, he worked as Senior Engineer in Alstom Power, UK. From Oct. 2006 to Sept. 2012, he worked at Cranfield University as Lecturer in Process Systems Engineering and MSc Course Director on Carbon Capture and Transport. He joined the University of Hull in Oct. 2012 as Reader, was promoted to Professorship in Aug. 2014. From Sept. 2016, he moved to the University of Sheffield as Professor of Energy Systems.
Meihong has published over 100 technical papers. He has held many roles in scientific committees of various organizations and meetings. Dr. Wang is currently Associate Editor for IMechE Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering.
Meihong currently leads the Process and Energy Systems Engineering Research Group at Department of Chemical & Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield with 10 researchers (5 post-doctoral researchers, 6 PhD researchers and 2 visiting researchers).
