Igor Litvinchev

Dr. Igor Litvinchev is a Professor at the Graduate Program in Systems Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, UANL, Mexico. He is a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Level 3), member of Mexican Academy of Sciences and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
He received his master degree in applied mathematics from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (FIZTEH), PhD and Dr. Sci. (Habilitation) degrees in systems theory and operations research from Computing Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) where he is currently a Head of Department “Mathematical Methods for Complex Systems Analyses”.
He held visiting positions at the University of Bergen, Norway (1993-1994), Sao Paulo State University, Brazil (1995-2000), as well as positions at various universities and research centres in Russia. Since 2000 he is with UANL.
His research focuses in large-scale and complex systems modelling, optimization and control with applications to logistics, supply chain management and decision-making.
He is the author of 4 books and more than 60 research papers. His research was supported by more than 30 projects from NATO Scientific Affairs Division; European Community; International Science Foundation (USA); Russian Foundation for Basic Research (Russia); CNPq and FAPESP (Brasil); BRFBR (Belarus); CONACYT, PROMEP and PAICYT (México); UNFFR (Ucrania). He is a coordinator of national-wide Mexican research network “Decision Support and Optimization for Large Scale and Complex Systems” (OPTISAD).
