Adolfo Escobedo

Arizona State University

Adolfo R. Escobedo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computing, Informatics, & Decision Systems Engineering at Arizona State University where he joined the school’s industrial engineering faculty in September 2016. Escobedo received a B.A. in General Mathematics from California State University, Los Angeles in 2009 and a Ph.D. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University in 2016. His research interests are in the theory and application of mathematical programming and computing, specifically in the design and analysis of algorithms, robust decision-making frameworks, numerical optimization software, and power systems planning and operations. Escobedo’s work has been published in journals associated with professional organizations IEEE, INFORMS, IISE, and SIAM. In conjunction with Erick Moreno-Centeno, Escobedo received an Honorable Mention in the 2015 INFORMS Junior Faculty Interest Group paper competition as a student at Texas A&M based on his work on roundoff error-free algorithms for optimization. He has won additional research awards for his work on power systems optimization.
